Prince Charles Honours The Sultan Of Johor With An Exquisite Gift?
What makes for a great present? Some say it’s the thought that counts. Sure, but what if the gift is something luxurious like a BMW i8? − And especially when it’s coming from a prince – We are sure that trumps a ‘thoughtful gift’ anytime of the day, right?
That’s exactly what Prince Charles of Wales did when he gave a brand new car to the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar in honour of his coronation earlier this week.
Earlier, the Facebook community page Brotherhood JOHOR, posted a picture (which has now been taken down) of the exquisite automobile, with license plate number “GV64 FKW”, being unloaded from the cargo.

However, the photo can still be viewed via the same community’s Instagram page. This proves the close ties between the Johor ruler and Britain’s royal.
Not that the Sultan needed a fine new ride, but the BMW i8 is really an elegant piece of a hybrid sports car. And this 2015 model is equipped with a 7.1 kWh lithium-ion battery, a top speed of 256 km/h and the ability to go from 0- 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds.

If you are already swooning at this gift, the car is expected to be sold in Malaysia at a price of RM1.2 million. And whether or not the purported gift was from Prince Charles himself, this certainly makes a nice addition to the extravagant collection the Sultan already has!
[Update]
Tengku Idris has confirmed through his Instagram account that the story is not true.
